A New Chapter: Dream Among The Stars

*Tadaa~!* My very first post ;)

Biggest announcement so far in this 3-month-long "Summer" break..

I'LL BE GOING TO STUDY IN THE UK!!!!
Yup, that's right. With the Lord's great blessing and a BIG thank you to my mum, I managed to secure Shell Malaysia's Overseas Scholarship 2008! Another thank you to Ms Ruth of UNMC English and Language Support for her guidance in my UCAS application, I obtained an unconditional offer to study Chemical Engineering in The University of Manchester! This was the Shell Scholarship awarding ceremony held at Sutera Harbour, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah:

The Chief Minister wasn't able to attend the ceremony in person, thus was represented by his Deputy. Among us, 7 were awarded overseas scholarships while another 7 were awarded local scholarships. Bursaries were also given to high achieving secondary students during the event.

For all of us (scholarship recipients), I'm sure it was like a dream come true! Some didn't even anticipate successfully obtaining the scholarship. Taking into account our rigorous and slightly entertaining interview process (a brief description of my account), I am sure that each one of us deserve this scholarship in his/her own way and possess the potential to reach greater heights. Nevertheless, I view this opportunity as a gift from the Lord Almighty. Receiving this award is not only a stepping stone to further improving ourselves academically and personally through experiences and challenges in a foreign environment, but we are also carrying on our backs the responsibility as future hope for society and ambassador of Malaysia.

To all fellow scholars, my heartiest CongRatuLationsS!! Appreciate and utilise this opportunity to the fullest! Let us journey into this new adventure together and be proud representatives of our beloved Malaysia :)
